Just got an alfa awus306h 1watt model, good upload but horrible download speeds!

Hello.



I live in an apartment/condo community and part of our deal is we get free wifi (pretty fast too, about 20mbps.)


Albeit the only access point is in the clubhouse and my apartment happens to be far away from it (bout 1/4 mile)


So I got an awus036h because I heard that they were supposed to be just about the best for the money.


Well, I've messed around with the antenna and location of the alfa, and I get 4 bars now. However, I get really really really bad download speeds. I'm talking maybe 2X that of 56k dial-up. Upload is fine though which is about .6 mbps or about 70k a second.
