Angry Linksys WUSB54G ver 4.0 Network adapter help Plz

This is really making me mad I am having trouble with my computer because i had it working great and nothing wrong. But for some reason the display driver went haywire and i fixed it and afterward i restarted the computer. I logged back on and it said it was installing a usb unknown device and it said it could not find the drivers. So i checked in the device manager under usb and the linksys wireless network adapter was not there and in its place it said unknown device. So i uninstalled everything downloaded the drivers which was the same thing. Then i installed it back on and restarted and it still says the same thing. I really need help because it is making me really mad. I also know it is not the usb port because i have a exterior cd rom drive on it.

The Linksys WUSB54G is a USB 2.0 device, so I think your chipset or USB drivers might need updating (the former would possibly explain video card issues). Many chipsets (especially VIA and SiS) have wierd USB issues without the proper drivers installed, often resulting in some devices functioning but not others.

For working USB 2.0 support you will need the latest Windows service pack installed to begin. Download the latest chipset or USB drivers to suit the chipset in your system. For Intel chipsets visit Support & Downloads, for VIA try http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=2&Type=1, nForce go to Driver Page, SiS Download Center

I could also be completely on the wrong track here, so also see if you can get the device working on another computer with the same driver to see what happens.
