Default Long Range Wifi Setup in Marrakech, Morocco. Specialist needed! Who's interested?

Hi guys,

My parents-in-law and I live in a rural area around Marrakech in Morocco (North Africa). Who recently built two homes about 1.6 miles from the nearest 3G mast (there's no phone line nearby).

However, due to whatever reason, the signal is too weak to provide a good connection for our dongle. We tried amplifiers, no success.

We then bought a small garage near the mast to bring in ADSL from the telephone line in case we'd have to do long range wifi, which we read upon a lot, but being tech-ignorant we do not have the knowhow on how to set this up. All we kind of know is that we have pretty decent line-of-sight, and if not, we can put in a mast on the garage to provide line-of-sight.

We are now looking for a specialist in this field. who'd be interested in coming to Marrakech (at our expense of course), to set one up for us and bring the equipment needed (or have us order the right stuff online and ship it).

If you're a specialist in this field and interested in doing this, please let us know your background.

Best, Tarik

If you have clear line of sight between the locations, a pair of Ubiquiti Loco M2 radios for USD $90 each will work.

What if there were obstacles in the line of sight, has the industry made anything strong enough to pierce the signal through the obstacles?

Then LOS will not work.

It's not a matter of a "strong enough signal", it's about the propagation of radio waves at these frequencies that require a clear line of sight. No matter how bright a spot light, it won't go around corners.

The only solution is to raise one or both antenna positions.
