MCS values in MAC Book Pro

Hello,

Although both the MAC book and the WiFi Access point that i have is operating at 2x2 MIMO, the airport command on the MAC is suggesting otherwise ( it is showing MCS of 7 at -40 ) , but the throughput that i am getting is higher than 150mbps . Could anyone help me.
