Default Multicasting

Hi

I run a small software business and recently I have the need to test software that is using multicasting (specifically Reliable Multicast Protocol/Pragmatic General Multicast).

I cannot find easy answers about which home/small business wireless routers support this, it seems most do not (I have a Netgear WNDR3700 and it appears not to) and the literature, specs etc on the various manufacturers websites is silent on this point.

It is not essential that I have this on the wireless channels, but I do need it on at least the direct cable connect outlets.

Any help much appreciated.

Thx

Multicast package is very important feature to use for large wide area wireless surveillance system, usually the outdoor professinal AP will have this features, indoor AP have no this feature.
multicast features can work in some IP Camera, but often to run in the ethernet, to run in the wireless system, need do some multicast package limilt control by TX or RX or others special control.
you can see our outdoor MIMO AP the user manual, we can setting some multicast data rate.
last 802.11ag outdoor AP products, We can do more functions for multicast, like TX or RX Control, Both Control, Multicast to Unicast exchange...

Thanks

But surely there are off-the-shelf wireless routers that support multicasting? Nobody seems to really know the answer and this is pretty shocking.

I do not want anything for outdoor use and technically multicasting is nothing special and a very well established part of the IP based protocol families.

This is killing me !

Thanks
