Default my wireless doesn't work

Hi...I've been trying to set up my wireless internet connection,
however, it is not working.
When i check the status, it said i was connected, however, my
internet was not...I dont know what is wrong. can someone please
help me...I dont know anything about computers so i really
can't understand what other people are telling me to do.....

from the computer..give the command ipconfig to check the ipaddress of the system. Try pinging the default gateway ip and see if you get reply. Then ping yahoo.com ans see if you get reply. If all this works fine..then see wht error message you get in the browser. If not check the network to see whether you get proper ip address from the router if its dhcp..try assigning static ip to the system and see if you can browse.

ummm....i dont know how to do any of thoes...sorry...
what is a command ipconfig? im so sorry but im really not good
with computers so can you say it easier so i can understand please?
