Need Advice On Wifi Ariel

Hi All

After many weeks trying to decide which wifi ariel to purchase i am no nearer to deciding and would much appreciate any advice on this subject.

Bit of background i live on a mountain and there are many difrrent small towns each side of me, At the back there are 3 towns behind each other and front of me towns are to the side of each other. ( Sorry if that makes no sense only best way to describe)

My inital thoughts were to get a directional ariel most probaley a 24dBI grid and point it in direction of the towns behind each other as there are more population of people than the otherside or get a omni ariel and hope to get best of both worlds.

To add to the mix i was thinking of purchasing a 4w amplifier but am i correct in saying this would only make my out going signal greater and would have no real benefit for somebody trying to connect far away???

Lastly i want to put the ariel on the chimnney of my house but also abit worried that because i am so high up anyway the signal will be unreacable to those in the other towns, Maybe a bracket on side of house with the ariel on scffolding bar so that its not so high.

First Town is : 0.6 Miles
Second Town: 1.6 Miles
Third Town: 2.8 Miles ( This Town Has Such Poor Internet Speeds) ** This is my Ultimate aim This town just as high up as myself.

Would much appreciate any thoughts on this and especially from people who have bought ariels and got good results.
