My Mom and Dad going camping in a motor home alot but at some camp grounds they are just to far from the Access Point to get a good signal to use the web. I would like to find a way to boost their reception using a cantenna or something similar but I need to know what network hardware I need to hook the antenna to so that they can use their laptop in the motor home.
The wireless adaptor they are using will have to have an external antenna connector on it. Do you know the model number of it? If it doesn't you may need to buy antother one that does. Also in a situation like this it helps to have a higher powered client adaptor like the ones made by Ubiquiti or Senao. You could use a desktop directional antenna or one that you could place on the roof. Make sure it has the connector type that is specified by the radio. One thing to keep in mind is that the cables have quite high loss so best to keep as short as possible for best performance.
Good luck
