Default Needing to Strengthen Wireless Connection in My House

Hello, first time poster here. My issue is that I have a Linksys Wireless N router on one side of my house and a Xbox 360 with a wireless G adapter on the other side. The signal I get to the Xbox is really weak, to the point where I can barely watch anything on Netflix cause the quality is so bad. It also continuously cuts out or has to reload when I am watching a video on Xbox live marketplace. I also have an old Linksys Wireless router (WRT54GS) that is just sitting around at my house not being used. I am fairly new to networking, but I know how to connect a router, etc. but I have never bridged 2 together or anything like that. Does anyone have any suggestions for increasing my signal strength to my Xbox? Preferably using the devices I already have. I have read a bit online about turning the old WRT54GS router into a repeater/extender at the halfway point between the two to increase signal strength. Is this my best option? One last thing to note is that I do occasionally play online on XboxLive so the speed of the connection would have to be fast enough to continue to do that without lag. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance
