Default No Wireless Networks In Range Error

Hello,

I installed a program called HIDE IP Platinum on my computer which is a Sony Vaio with wireless built in, and after having numerous problems with it, I uninstalled it from my computer.

Now I get an error that says "no wireless networks in range." The card is working, I updated the driver but still get the same error.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks,

Christian

Make sure the radio is enabled; many laptops have a button to turn the radio section of the card on and off. Also make sure the Wireless Zero Configuration service is running and set to automatic startup.

To view the services on your PC, right click My Computer and select Manage. In the Computer Management window, browse to Services and Applications then Services. Double click on the WZC service to change its configuration.

The program could have stuffed the network stack in Windows, try running the command sfc /scannow. That will scan for and repair any damaged or missing Windows files.
