One SSID shows twice

Hi,
I'm new here.
I have a continuous problem in my new eee pc:
On Win XP, my SSID shows twice, with two different MAC addresses.
I think my wifi card (Atheros 5007) is damaged, since its not working in Linux nor in Win XP, despite appropriate drivers installed.
Does anyone recognize this symptom?
