Universal WIFI range extender

We travel to several campgrounds during the year and I have had trouble connecting to some of the campgrounds wireless networks, due to a weak signal.

I have an Acer 6930 laptop with an internal Intel WIFI.

Is there a universal range extender (repeater) that would enable me to get a stronger signal from multiple types of wireless networks?

With all the different campgrounds, there could be different manufacturers of the equipment used on there systems.

UPDATED !!!! Cheap and easy WIFI antenna signal booster that is better and quicker than the paper ones !!!

Got a friend who was in the same situation as you. He went online and found himself a USB WLAN adapter that had a 5dBi adapter attached to it. He was able to access networks that he never was able to with his internal WLAN device. He mentioned that it was super easy to installed and it worked like a charm. Plus, its affordable! You might want to check it out.
