Computer people are very bad about defining terms. What you call an AP may be a wireless router. If you don't specify which AP, you can't get a valid answer.
A wireless router is a router and AP in one, with more goodies: DHCP server, firewall, et cetera.
If you can live without a firewall, and the AP lets you assign it a ( one ) static address at each end, yes. You will get a one IP link good for one client.
If you want to make a long haul link; AP on one end and a bridge on the other.
If you want to connect more than one device to the AP you will need a bridge and router at the other end. The LAN side of the router would be the one client mentioned above; generating new IPs and allowing multiple clients on the WAN side. |
