WDS question

Hi all,
Since I'm not so familiar with WIFI technologies, I'd like some help with the following question:

I have a Netgear WGR614v7 wireless router.
Currently, this router is used only as an access point.
I want to buy another wireless router and enable WDS between the two.
My question is,
Do both routers must support WDS, or is it ok for just one router to support WDS?
If that's the case, then I'll buy only one router which supports WDS.
