My question is what should I use for a home wifi network that I just installed- access point or ad hoc? I use my dsl connection for a pc and wirelessly to my android devices...
What is better and more secure? And which will give me faster speeds- as it is on the ad hoc, I am satisfied with the speeds so it does not really bother me... unless access point will make each of my devices get slower speeds upon simultaneous connections.
Also, will access point rid me off the damn new firewall in the wifi router that is messing up some of my software that need to get ported now...
Hi Mark and thank you.
I am not so familiar with WiFi details and am going to take your advice... Just have doubts about this ad hoc or access point thing... I thought access point was for internet cafes and so easily accessible and hence less secure.... Also the WiFi router software says that on its software that choosing access point will remove all firewall and routing safety of the WiFi router..... What does that mean? I will still have whatever security windows and my modem was already providing, right?
