Wifi Repeater Help

Hi all,

I've recently brought a wifi repeater (Wireless-N). I have followed the instructions in setting it up and on first glance it seemed to have worked. My phone would connect to it with full wifi signal..... however that is all it does. It can not load any internet pages, any games that links to the internet doesn't work either...it just seems to freeze. Also on the xbox, again it shows full signal however can not connect to xbox live.

i'm finding it all very frustrating and after repeating the installation and connecting it to my modem many times it comes to the same result.

now i'm not a genius on the computer however i can follow a sheet of instructions easily. Any help or suggestions anyone has i'd be truly grateful.
