Default WiFi - SSID issues

Hi all. I'm having a problem resolving this nagging little issue with my wifi. I'm running XP64 sp2, I have a linksys wmp54gs on a linksys wrt54gs running thibor 16. My problem is that, I can connect to the router, see the net, but when I go to the view available networks dialogue, nothing shows up. I have a laptop that see all of the wireless network ssid's around me, but this machine will not see any ssid at all.

When I was running xp32 sp2 on this machine with the same card and same router, I could see the ssid's no problem, but with xp64 sp2, I can't see anything. Does anyone have a fix for this or has heard of this? thanks for any help.

Thumbs up

Hi Asmodeus,

Try upgrading the driver version of the NIC card. The issues seems to be related to driver of the NIC card.

Unfortunately, I can't upgrade this driver. I'm runnin xp64 and Linksys doesn't make 64 bit drivers for this card. So a linksys user was able to create 64bit drivers for a lot of people using xp64. So I have nothing to upgrade to. I just don't understand how the driver doesn't allow the SSID's to be displayed since it's WZC that is managing seeing other networks, no? Just so we are on the same page, did I paint a good enough picture for you to see what is going on? If you have, do you know of any other instances where this has happened or why? I'd like to try and resolve this before I go to a 3rd party network manager and shut down WZC.
