wireless router power consumption help
does anybody know how much power consumption my wireless router is using.
natopia 2247 12v 800ma getting a bit of grief that it is using 800 watts
no no no LOL!
The power rating is in MILLI amps 1/1000 amps
Not full amps. I can understand the confusion, if one is not familiar with electrical/electronic stuffs
800 AMPS is more power use than a HOUSE with everything on and running .
Your router is drawing less power than a 5 watt lightbulb.
You are okay.
No $1000 electrical bills for you. Not from your router, anyway
basic electricity 101
Wattage is voltage(in volts) times amperage(in amps)
you have a 12V router with a draw of 0.8 amps (800mA)
your wattage is .8x12 or 9.6 Watts
Again, you are okay
