Question Woosh and connecting to linksys router

Hi
Wonder if anyone can help.

I have a Woosh Gateway and Woosh modem, all set-up and working fine.

I now want to be wireless in the house, and have bought a Linksys WRT54G, which I am assured is compatible.

Had some troubles setting up initially, then spoke to the woosh man on the help desk. He told me that the Linksys box needed a different IP address from the Woosh gateway, so went in and changed it.

Still doesnt work, NOW - I need to get back into to web interface of the Linksys box but cant.

Have connected the laptop with the Linksys box with the provided blue cord to one of the ports. Lights are on on the box. Am putting the correct IP address in IE without the http etc, but keep on getting error message..

LAN card is not disabled, but laptop doesnt seem to want to connect to the linksys modem. (Yesterday I managed to get in when on phone to tech support - although only after several tries)

Any ideas!?

Thanks Melanie

Default Love that Linksys

Welcome to linksys routers. You changed the router IP and now it won't let you in. Go figure:-)

First things first...and I am talking from my experience with Linksys routers (using one now). Hold the reset button on the router to reset it to factory defaults. Unplug an plug back in the router. Now, with the router disconnected from any other device, log in under the default IP...192.168.1.1 and change the 3rd Octet to a 2. So, you will now have the router set to 192.168.2.1. Unplug the router again and plug it back in. You should be able to log back in under the new IP...192.168.2.1

If you can get that to work you can plug it back in to the gateway and you should be good. I know nothing about Whoosh but it sounds like everything is a IP conflict and by changing it to a different net you should be good. I had to do the same thing with my router for some other issues I was having with my provider.

Hope that helps.
