Default Google In-Flight WiFi?

Google has been trying hard to be break into the Enterprise market, without notable success. The Formtek blog suggests that projects like this week's roll-out of free WiFi in Mountain View blur their focus from areas where they might achieve a higher ROI. Both Boeing's and Verizon's recent announcements of exiting the in-flight WiFi space might be an opportunity for Google to capture more attention from business eyeballs in airports and on-flight.

But highly unlikely.

I know that the government and cell company will but extra security on it but man does it present a security risk. Email's are so easily intercepted its crazy. Also anyone with access to the controls can tell whatever tower Obama is connected to and triangulate his position. No way to protect from that. anyone else scared?

Are you serious??? Wifi with airplane mode ?.... you know what airplane mode is not it? ... this means no communication from or to the camera so it's safe to radio frequencies used in aircraft ....
As Far as me, the flight mode is a good way not to get your camera off during your flight, you can still play, write docs, or whatever you want inside your unit, even listen to music too ...I do not think it is wise to turn WiFi on Airplane mode!

it's an interesting idea, but there are certain issues that must be addressed. Google (or any company) could certainly offer a service that is secure. It's not like there isn't RF traffic occurring on the planes as it is.

sweet i guess now even you'll be connection 30,000 feet in the air... that's not bad However i think soon staying too connected might come across as more of a minus point that a plus point. I like the initiative , it's only that we need to relax that overworked mind from time to time and realize that it's not always important to check that email too frequently

Conceptually very interesting but realities of real world implementation... plus I don't know about everyone else but I quite like having a few hours flight time to myself without calls or emails!
